Phil Harvey

Thanks!  Which exact version of the lens is this?  There is also a "Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM" version, and a new "Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Contemporary" that was just announced last month.

According to the manual it is just a plain 'Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC'. So neither 'macro' nor 'HSM' or 'OS'. It is was bought in 2011. Maybe the first version of this lens type?

Phil Harvey

OK, thanks.  This lens will be added in the next release.

Here are 4 files taken with the Pentax K-3 and the Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM "Art" on the Pentax K-3, EXIF is intact:

Hi, I bought two Voigtlander lenses:

90mm F3.5 APO-Lanthar SL II
http://www.voigtlander.com/cms/voigtlaender/voigtlaender_cms.nsf/id/pa_90mm_f3_5_slii.html
Lens ID                         : Unknown (33) 90mm

and

20 mm / F3,5 Color Skopar SL II
http://www.voigtlander.com/cms/voigtlaender/voigtlaender_cms.nsf/id/pa_fdih7pyj95.html
Lens ID                         : Unknown (33) 20mm

Both give
Lens Type                       : Voigtlander or Carl Zeiss Lens

The camera is a Canon 6D.

I plan to buy their 40mm too.

Phil Harvey

Thanks!  These will appear in ExifTool 9.57.  These lenses are already recognized for Nikon:

Voigtlander Color Skopar 20mm F3.5 SLII Aspherical
Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 90mm F3.5 SLII Close Focus

I will use these same names (except that by convention Canon uses "f/" instead of "F") unless I hear otherwise from you.

The Ultron 40mm is already in the list, so it should be identified properly.

Hi,

the new Sigma 50 1.4 Art on Canon EF is reported by exiftool as Canon 35 1.4 L.

Is there any way for exiftool to check the focal length and the depending on it report the right lens name?

Phil Harvey

Thanks!  It will be called "Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A", and the LensID tag should be able to distinguish this from the Canon lens.

Do you need the Raw Files?

Thanks for a great tool.

Mark

Phil Harvey

Hi Mark,

Great, thanks!  I need more information for the first lens.  Could you post the output of this command for the Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM | A?:

exiftool -lenstype# FILE

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't think that the 2nd lens (35mm) can be differentiated from the non-Art version, so I don't think there is anything I can do about this.
