How do I run it?

Hi all, new to this
Mac OS X 10.7.5.
Downloaded Image-ExifTool-9.25.tar.gz. Extracted into /Users/ME/Downloads/Image-ExifTool-9.25
in Terminal

me-imac-2:~ me$ cd /Users/me/Downloads/Image-ExifTool-9.25
me-imac-2:Image-ExifTool-9.25 me$ exiftool
-bash: exiftool: command not found
me-imac-2:Image-ExifTool-9.25 me$

I have tried to chmod it

Hi Tony,

Try "./exiftool" to run exiftool from the current directory.  For security reasons, the current directory usually isn't part of the PATH in Unix systems, so you need to specify the directory name.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
