Hello,

This is all pretty new to me, so please be kind...
Earlier today I was searching how to discover the shutter actuations on my 5DII and I came across ExifTool. I was able to install, open in Terminal and drag and drop an image over the Terminal window which revealed the metadata. My two questions now are 1) what category show the number of shutter actuations and 2) how do I end the Exiftool session in Terminal?

Thanks
Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,

1) It seems that Canon only stores ShutterCount information for the EOS 1D models.  However, I think there may be a utility somewhere that will read this directly from the camera.

2) Just quit the Terminal application to end the session.
