Hi all,

I am new to the metadata world, and I'm not sure if the ExifTool can do what I want it to.

I want to extract metadata from some videos I uploaded to my Youtube account. I know how to use browser addons to extract the video from Youtube back onto my desktop, but I'm not sure if the metadata would be removed by Youtube/Google.

Has anyone tried extracting from previously uploaded videos to Youtube? If so, can I extract metadata from the file if I download the *.flv, *.mp4, or *.3gp video from the internet service?

Thanks very much for the assistance.

Yes.  ExifTool will extract metadata from flv, mp4 and 3gp videos.  Just drag the video onto exiftool(-k).exe if you are in Windows.
