Hello everyone,

I have beend doing some testing for extracting the metadata into CSV format from every file inside a folder & subfolders.

When I check the properties of the folder in Windows. It reports 929 files and 178 folders. Between the files I have files without extension, .AFP, .TXT,, .ICO, .EXE, .XLS, .PPT, .ZIP, .db, .jpg... and many others.

Next I executed the following command for exporting the metadata:
    -    exiftool -csv -common -r .\Folder\ > C:\export.csv

Exiftool extracted information from 848 files from 179 scanned directories. It didn't contain .ico, .db or .afp files between others.

If I add all the file extension with the parameter -ext I get 910 files from 179 scanned directories. Very close but still missing some files.

How do you think I could obtain all the files? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Israel Les.

Hi Israel,

What are the numbers if you use -ext "*" ?

- Phil
...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
