Missing 'minus' in longitude after import from CSV

I used ExifTool to insert image geotags through a CSV file. Everything seems to work fine except one little detail. My longitude values are negative (in CSV file), since I'm on the West side of the globe, but after updating the exif data the minus sign seem to disappear so in the end I'm getting correct latitude values and mirrored longitudes. Is there any clever way to solve this problem?

If you are writing EXIF GPS information, you must also write GPSLatitudeRef and GPSLongitudeRef to store the quadrant.
