GEOTAG issues - HELP

The command is this:

exiftool -gps:all= -tagsfromfile d:\tags\%f.exif -gps:all -m -a -ext jpg d:\images

That works for the GPS tags - thank you very much.

However, using that knowledge... I started working on the other pieces and it is not working for the RAW (binary) data. Is there a way to extract the entire metadata and then re-import? I tried the .MIE option but it does not work.

These are RJPEG images and all editing software changes the metadata format to a JPG (rgb stuff). Attached is a pre-edited version and a post edited version. You can see the structure is totally different. Is there a way to pull an image of all metadata (including binary) before an edit, and then replace it all back to the file after the edit?

Try copying the EXIF data as a block using the "EXIF" tag.  See the Extra tags documentation for details.

You can see it is not restoring all the metadata information that was present in the original file. All the binary [FLIR] metadata is still missing. It has a few [FLIR] items, but not all.

ExifTool does not support writing FLIR data (except for the basic FLIR tags, see the documentation) so you can not use it to restore the removed FLIR data. To retain the FLIR data I'm afraid your only option is to edit the image with FLIR enabled software.
