Why can not I modify or delete Time Stamp?

Right.  You need to open a "cmd.exe" window then type the command before dragging and dropping the image.  If you drag and drop and image on ExifTool it will just extract the metadata but won't allow you to type anything else.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
