Hi all
I'm new in linux as well as in exiftool so I need some help :)

I have on my external storage lot of pictures in different folders. Some pictures have same name but they are in different folders, but some even has different names and they are in different folders but the picture is the same.
So I got an idea to compare metadata of files and find 95% or more similarity and remove duplicated files.
But I didn't managed to accomplish this

Does anyone has any hint for me?

Thank you in advance

There's a few programs out there that can help.  To start, I would suggest fdupes.  This will go through the directories you give it and remove any exact duplicates.

But fdupes doesn't do anything about files where the metadata has be altered.  It's just a start to clear out the obvious.  You could then check out the programs in this AskUbuntu answer.  These programs are supposed to look for visual duplicates.
* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).
