I want to change date/time stamp of a PDF file with the command
exiftool "-ModifyDate>FileModifyDate"

Unfortunately, I always get the error message Warning: Invalid xref table.
The PDF files come from a daily newspaper. New files also result in this error message.

Leo

Exiftool is current (10.45) and is running on Windows 7.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for this report.

If you can email me a sample PDF I will take a look.  My email is philharvey66 at gmail.com

It may be Monday before I can look into this.

Thanks Phil. Email sent.

Hi Leo,

I got the sample, thanks.

The problem is because of a comment in an unusual place inside the xref table.  I will add a patch to ExifTool to allow this, and version 10.46 will be able to read these files.

Hi Phil,

Nice, that you found the error. I will then test version 10.46 and report.

Thanks for your very quickly help.
