Can Exiftool write to a MP3 yet?

I'm able to extract art from a MP3 but unfortunately Audacity strips the picture (art) when saving.exporting so I'm hoping Exiftool can do this now. Please advise?

No, sorry, exiftool can not write to MP3 files. See http://www.exiftool.org/index.html#supported

You might try FFmpeg or Lame.  This StackExchange has some examples.
