Capture NX-D corrupting files? I thought it was read only.

Saw this somewhere on the main Exiftool site in reference to a utility to fix corrupted nef files:  "[Nikon NX-D has also been known to corrupt images (possibly related to changing the file byte ordering!), but these problems are not fixed by this utility.]"

I am pretty sure the new Capture NX-D is read only and does not make any changes to nef files.  Only saves sidecar files.

Was this meant to refer to the original Capture NX-2 ??  If so, may want to correct typo.

I use Capture NX-D every day so just wanted to find out for sure.

I don't use the program, but this is the relevant thread where someone says they used the program and it corrupted their images.  It's quite possible they have since fixed the problem.
