Hi,

Am trying to determine the Camera Module Mfr. for my Kyocera Hydro.  http://www.gsmarena.com/kyocera_hydro_c5170-4748.php

Have tried a number of Hardware Detection Apps and while they detect the mfrs of Light, Accelerometer, proximity, compass sensors, I have not found an App that lists the Camera Module Mfr.

Hope that the Camera Module Mfr info is someplace in the EXIF file and ExifTool can detect it.

If ExifTool can not do this would still be interested in any suggestions how to find the Camera Module Mfr.

Thanks

Ken

Hi Ken,

If you could send me a sample (philharvey66 at gmail.com), I'll take a look.

Hi Phil,

"If you could send me a sample"  Sure, just sent the photos as your directed.

Thanks for checking!!!

Hi Ken,

I got the images, thanks.  I can't see anything in them about the original manufacturer of the hardware, sorry.

I was hoping that the structure of the metadata may shed some light, but unfortunately it isn't generated by the hardware, but instead by the software app that you were running.

Hi Phil,

"I was hoping that the structure of the metadata may shed some light, but unfortunately it isn't generated by the hardware, but instead by the software app"

Question, since the metadata is generated by the software app, which of the 4 photos had the most complete metadata?

Thanks again for your help!!!

Ken

I can't remember offhand, and I deleted the images, but you can test this yourself by running "exiftool -a -G1 FILE" on all of the images.
