Hi all,

Was wondering if it was possible to edit/remove tags based on their tag ID (I think is the right one). For example some of my images (.jpg) have the unknown IFD0 tag 0x0220 and I was wondering if it was possible to remove it using exiftool, rather than wipe the whole the IFD0:all block to solve the problem and losing other information in the process?

Any help is much appreciated :) Thanks in advance :)

Probably not.  This post from a few years ago, while it's in regards to IPTC and not EXIF, says it's not possible without creating a user-defined tag.  I can't find any posts in the intervening time which negates this info.

But you'll have to wait a few weeks until Phil gets back to get an official answer.
"It didn't work" isn't helpful. What was the exact command used and the output.
Read FAQ #3 and use that cmd
Please use the Code button for exiftool output

Please include your OS/Exiftool version/filetype
