I have DNG files and I see this warning:
[ExifTool]      Warning                         : [minor] Bad IDC_IFD SubDirectory startIs there anyway to fix that?

Phil Harvey

The IDC IFD is inside the Sony maker notes.

I don't think this is fixable.

The photo is converted from ARW to DNG with Adobe Bridge and I have removed with -makernotes= command all maker notes I think.

Phil Harvey

I get it.  You wanted to avoid the warning rather than fix the problem.  It's sort of like cutting off your arm because your elbow hurts.  But at least your elbow doesn't hurt any more.

Actually the problem is with all my DNG files which are converted with Adobe Bridge from Sony ARW. I have not make any metadata edit for those files.
Maybe bug in Adobe Bridge?

Phil Harvey

Adobe software isn't very good at preserving the maker notes when converting to DNG.  This happens for some other makes as well.

Personally I don't need maker notes in the DNG. But the metadata warnings doesn't sound good. I see that it maybe cause problems in future.

If don't even want keep maker notes is there way to delete all IDC IFD? The normal -makernotes= command doesn't work for that.

Phil Harvey

Warnings in maker notes shouldn't cause any problems.

There is no way to delete just the IDC IFD.
