Groan.  Updated mac os and command line tools last night.

Reinstalled exiftool and it seems to be mended.

It is odd that updating MacOS wipes some files but not others from /usr/local/bin

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
