OECF is actually "Opto-Electronic Conversion Function" per ISO 14524:2009 or "Opto-Electric Conversion Function" per EXIF 2.32 (p 51).  ExifTool reports it as Opto-ElectricConvFactor

Do what you will, I shan't judge your assessment of the importance of this nomenclature.  :p

Ooo.  That's a problem because it has already been translated into 16 languages (the -lang option). :( 

I think I'll just pretend I didn't see this post. :P

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Actually, looking at the Exif 2.32 specification, it is called:

Optoelectric conversion factor (page 42)
Opto-Electric Conversion Function (page 51)
Optoelectric Coefficient (page 83)
opto-electric conversion function (page 135)

So I don't feel so bad leaving it the way it is in ExifTool. :)

Yikes!  Yeah, the people behind EXIF are damn geniuses but not the best proofreaders!  I've noted other instances of inconsistencies in nomenclature  (I just read the whole thing again last night to reorganize mappings).  "Image Input Equipment Model" vs "Model of Image Input Equipment" comes to mind.

Re: OECF ...I just went with the ISO because that will help me win when challenged at social gatherings in front of a crowd.  : p
