Hello! 👋🏼 I'm a longtime fan of ExifTool and, I'm looking for volunteers to participate in one or more 1-on-1 research interviews on the topic of image metadata — gathering experiences, opinions, and ideas as it relates to user interfaces.

If this is something that you might be willing to participate in, please reply directly (or to this post), and I will gladly share more details.

FYI, more about me: 😎 I discovered ExifTool ~8 years ago when I was actively trying to manage a large library of hobby-related photos. Fast-forward to today, I'm a student in a user experience (UX) research & design program. As part of a solo project, I decided to explore ways to make the process of viewing, adding, and editing image metadata easier & more pleasing for users.

I'm interested.

But to be honoust, as the current maintainer I'm interested to find out how I could improve ExiftoolGui.

Dont know if that counts.

I don't mind helping - I'm currently building a read-only MacOS app that interfaces with Exiftool and the user interface is always the most difficult part.

Hi, Frank and Greybeard. I'd love to talk to both of you! Could you each please send me a private message with the following? I'll then be in touch to set up the next steps! (Others reading this, feel free to do the same.)

  • Your email address or other contact info
  • Your country & time zone
  • If known, your availability for a 15-30 minute remote meeting between today and early next week. (Via Zoom if possible. By other means, if not.)
  • If you prefer, I can also send you a web page with availability on my calendar.

I'm looking forward to it.
