XMP in CRW files!

I have just discovered that Canon RAW Codec for Windows (version 1.7.0.56) has the ability to write XMP to CRW images!!

This is something which has long been on the wish list for a number of ExifTool users, and now, finally, Canon has shown the way.  So the next version of ExifTool (8.31) will have the ability to read/write/create XMP in CRW images.

Very exciting! (for a metadata geek like me)

Edit: added version number
...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

-you're not alone on this :)
Even I dont own camera which produces CRW, it's good to see, that Canon keeps supporting "old" raw format.
