I am trying to change up the "power up time" on several photos taken on a nikon d300 camera that were not set correctly for a buddy of mine.  I have done a lot of research into this and have not found a way to figure out how to change this date/time field. It seems that no one has any documentation on how that data field is formatted.  it is not human readable in a hex editor.  That field seems to be an integer based on a few posts i have found about it, can anyone give me insight into how it is formatted and how to change it?   THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Thanks for pointing out this problem in ExifTool.  This is an oversight on my part.  I will add the ability to write this tag to the next version, and ExifTool 8.49 will have this ability when it is released (in about a week or so).

The problem is that I forgot to code the inverse conversion for this tag.
