Hi Phil,

I just noticed in your Exif documentation, that WhiteBalance tag is listed twice: ID:xa403 and ID:xfe4e.
I've looked into Exif specs, but found nothing about xfe4e.. ?

Thanks for explaining
Bogdan

Hi Bogdan,

Only tags with underlined names are part of the EXIF standard.  The following comment in the tag name documentation explains the 2nd WhiteBalance tag:

"(tags 0xfde8-0xfdea and 0xfe4c-0xfe58 are generated by Photoshop Camera RAW. Some names are the same as other EXIF tags, but ExifTool will avoid writing these unless they already exist in the file)"

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

I didn't read the notice at the beginning of page and also didn't pay attention that some tags are underlined and some aren't.
Thanks for clarifying

Bogdan
