Thanks, but what is the exact model name of your lens?

Is it "Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM | S" ?

Hi Mees,

Thanks.  It's odd that the lens produces such different ID's when used with a converter.  This requires some new logic to be added to ExifTool.  Version 10.03 will contain this update, and should be released sometime this week.

Hi Phil,

I tried to email some of this to you, but got the mails back with "(Unable to deliver message within specified time.)", therefore I post it here:

=========================
Exiftool 10.05
new lenses:
in Canon.pm: LensType 180.5 should maybe have "ZE" as it is the Canon version ?
in Sony.pm: LensType2 49234 should have 'F2.8' like the other Sony/Batis/Loxia lenses (not f/2.8 which is Canon notation)

=========================
Minor typo in sony.pm:
            '3 3 2 0' => 'ARW 2.3.2', #JR (RX1RM2,ICLE-7SM2 - support for uncompressed 14-bit RAW)
'ICLE' should be 'ILCE'
(and maybe also add 'DSC-' to the RX1RM2)

=========================
Ken Rockwell has a comparison between the Canon 16-35mm f/4 lens on a Canon 5DS R and on the Sony 7RM2 with a Fotodiox adapter.
The Sony image gives:
[ExifIFD]       0xa432 Lens Info                       : 16-35mm f/4
[ExifIFD]       0xa434 Lens Model                      : 16-35mm F4 OSS
[Sony]          0xb027 Lens Type                       : Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM + Metabones Adapter
[Sony]          0xb02a Lens Spec                       : 16-35mm F4 OSS
[Sony]          0x0008 Lens Mount 2                    : A-mount (5)
[Sony]          0x0009 Lens Type 3                     : Metabones Canon EF Smart Adapter Mark III or IV
[Sony]          0x000b Camera E-mount Version          : 1.50
[Sony]          0x000d Lens E-mount Version            : 1.08
[Sony]          0x0015 Lens Firmware Version           : Ver.31
(LensType=61691)
(LensType3=78)

It looks like the Fotodiox adapter behaves exactly like a Metabones smart adapter ...
This matches with some images I have seen (but without makernotes) with the Viltrox Canon EF adapter which also appeared to use the 61184 offset plus Canon-ID (from XMP-aux:LensID).

So I think comments and/or descriptions in Minolta.pm at LensType=61184 and in Sony.pm at LensType2=78 should be adapted to refer also to Fotodiox and Viltrox adapters.

NB: from a comparison of the external view of several Canon EF to Sony-E smart adapters I did some time ago, there appeared to be at least four different designs:

1) "Fotodiox Pro EF-NEX Auto" (smooth sides, matt-black E-mount)
= "VILTROX MOUNT ADAPTER EF-NEX II" (smooth sides, matt-black E-mount)
= "CAMERAPLUS MOUNT ADAPTER AT-EF-NEX II" (smooth sides, matt-black E-mount)
= "Commlite AUTO MOUNT ADAPTER EF-NEX" (smooth sides, silver/metal E-mount)

2) "Commlite Auto Focus Adapter EF-NEX" ('ribbed' sides)
= "Koolertron Auto Focus Adapter EF-NEX"
= Neewer "YouPro Auto Focus Adapter EF-NEX"

3) Metabones - own design

4) Fotga - appears to be a different design

Regards,
Jos

Hi Jos,

Thanks!  I've updated mostly the comments in the code as you have suggested, and have also changed these lens descriptions:

    61184 => 'Metabones Canon EF Adapter or Other Adapter', #JR (also Fotodiox or Viltrox)
    78 => 'Metabones Canon EF Smart Adapter Mark III or Other Adapter', #PH/JR (also Mark IV, Fotodiox and Viltrox)

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately ExifTool doesn't yet decode the WB850F maker notes.  And even if it did, the lens information is likely not stored there because this is a fixed-lens camera.

You might want to have a look at http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/products/k-1/ex/img/ex-pic05_on.jpg

There are new values for AF Point selected and AF points in focus.

The HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR  Kit lens has Lens Type 8/61 .

The K-1 has Pentax Model ID 0x13092.

The K-1 Raw development process is "16"

The sample for the HD PENTAX-D FA 15-30mm F2.8 ED SDM WR is here: http://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/9969263190/pentax-k-1-pre-production-sample-gallery/1317951869
It has the lens ID 8/63.

Hi Phil,

Sigma has two versions of this lens (150-600 mm: Contemporary and Sports version). I just noticed that this Sigma 150-600 Sports lens, is still reporting as a Contemporary version. But when attached to a 1.4 convertor, it will transmit the wright version.

And yes: I do use the latest version of ExifTool.

Do you mind to have another look into this?

Best regards,

Mees

Hi Phil,
after accidentally finding the new LensType2 number for the Touit 50mm, I searched for the other missing Zeiss lenses at 49xxx and found the other Touit lenses and also the Loxia 35mm, all having Lens Firmware Version Ver.02.
So the following can be added to the LensType2 list in Sony.pm (similar to the Loxia 50mm):

    49201 => 'Zeiss Touit 12mm F2.8', #JR (lens firmware Ver.02)
    49202 => 'Zeiss Touit 32mm F1.8', #JR (lens firmware Ver.02)
    49203 => 'Zeiss Touit 50mm F2.8 Macro', #JR (lens firmware Ver.02)

    49233 => 'Zeiss Loxia 35mm F2', #JR (lens firmware Ver.02)
