Phil (everyone) -

An update. I have been using .exiftool as a Windows executable since 2007. In 2009 I started serious work on an ISMC metadata project. ~25,000 photos have received from 40-184 fields of biological data. In 2007 there were under 40 fields. Today, there are 184. .exiftool has been an incredible tool in allowing me to manage, find and use the museum's photographs. Depending on a need I can rename photos just about any way I want. The metadata project now is a continuous part of several museum projects including writing Insects of the San Francisco Bay Area. Anyway, I wanted to update you with thanks .. and to point you to the website we use .exiftool to create.

Thanks for the note.

It is interesting to know how people are using ExifTool.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
