ExifToolGUI 5.1.3 newbie (thanks for developing and maintaining this!)

There was an earlier feature request involving more list entires for the "ExifTool Direct" subsytem. I haven't used that, and am pretty much completely ignorant about using ExifTool directly.

I would advocate (as a low priority) to have more flexibility in how filelist pattern matching is done. I think the default-as installed has "Show ALL Files", and perhaps several other patterns. It seems to also have a limit of 8 entries. I've expanded this for my own situation of dealing with .dng's and .cr2's, plus some oddities that probably don't apply to that many people (I use a fully manual Samyang u.w.a. lens that doesn't communicate at all with the camera body, so the f-stop isn't directly available and that is what I tend to use ExifToolGui for).

An improvement would be more entries in the drop-down list, such as up to 30. That seems like a typical max number in my experience. Your app now has the sophistication of moving the entry up or down, which probably wasn't trivial to implement. Nice Job!

And something that I think might be helpful: an ad hoc pattern matching that would be for just one-time use. It wouldn't have the extra options for saving. For example, I might want to see just the files with "MyUniqueName" as part of the filename, such as 20120602am_123456_MyUniqueName_Suffix.dng

Also, you might want to put some kind of Label on this cability. Now there is "Refresh" button widget, then the input-field, and then the Edit button widget. It isn't hard to figure out what it does, but perhaps it could be more obvious for newbies.

"Some village is missing its idiot" ... that would be me :-(

Hi allan,
Before I forget: I like your avatar picture  :)

It's interesting to discover how some things, while "less important" for me, might be very important for others. I mean, I use "Show ALL files" 99.9% of the time and I never added a single custom file filter.
Ok, I will increase MRU file filters list a bit and maybe make it more wide -not much wider though  :)

About "one time use" file filter... I hope I understood you correctly, but this "feature" allready exist: you just type i.e. *50*.CR2 into filter field, hit Enter key and filter will be applied.
