ExifTool windows extracts some metedatas but Linux version can't extract

ExifTool Linux version can't extract "Date Time Original" and "File Creation Date/Time" embedded metadata values for BMP and GIF files but ExifTool windows i.e exiftool.exe can extract those values.

Can you please let us know why ExifTool windows extracts but Linux version can't.

Funny.  Someone else just asked this same question

This applies for FileCreateDate.  However, DateTimeOriginal is metadata in the file, so it will be extracted the same on all systems.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
