Hi everybody!
I am a complete newbie, helping out a photographer (father in law) who just got into product photography.
For each image they are required to add a lot if metadata. Like product number, product weight etc

They are doing it manually in Photoshop or Lightroom, and it takes forever! Also it seems extremely boring.

So I found ExifTool and I am wondering if it might do the job?

From the client he has got an excel file with all the meta data for each product. Each product has an idnumber.
He saves each image as the idnumber.jpg.
If I am going to help him adding metadata I would like to do it once a week.
Is it possible using exiftool to add the right metadata for each image in batches?
Thanks!

Hi Carl,

If you can format the database in the correct CSV format, then you can use the CSV import feature to do what you want. See FAQ 26 for some help with this.
