As the title says , I want to edit the 'keywords' tag of hundreds of tiffs with 1 single line , and try to not get any errors.

You need to provide more info.  Edit in what way?  Remove a keyword?  Add a keyword?  Change all the keywords to all caps?  Correct a misspelling?
"It didn't work" isn't helpful. What was the exact command used and the output.
Read FAQ #3 and use that cmd
Please use the Code button for exiftool output

Please include your OS/Exiftool version/filetype

we need to edit the 'tags' field in the metadata of the tiff sorry for the mistake.

Yes, ExifTool can do this.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
